To My Heroes

This is a poem I wrote while Matthew was deployed to Iraq two years ago...this is my tribute to my heroes!!!!

Dedication to (for all those who have and will serve.)
Hero,courageous and mighty.
Noble and faithful to the cause.
Heart beating with conviction.
Hunter ready for the kill.
My soldier.
Hunted,cold and hungry.
Stalked by pain and suffering.
Fear chills your bones.
Rage boils your blood.
My soldier.
Haunted, broken and bleeding.
Eyes shadowed and stark.
Lost in hell.
Desolation sinks into your soul.
My soldier.
Hero, hunted and haunted,
Here's my love shining bright.
Cling to me and I will bring you home.
My soldier, let me heal you.
